A pair of antique Chinese porcelain table lamps in the pale, sky-blue clair-de-lune glaze prized in the 19th century — a color that reads almost gray in shadow and luminous in daylight, never the same twice. The urn-form silhouette tapers into a gracefully narrowed neck, with hand-formed knot handles at the shoulders and small coordinating finials at the top.

The porcelain has the depth and slight variation that hand-thrown work develops over time; minor crazing where it occurs is consistent with age and adds, rather than detracts. The wiring is original — charming, but worth having checked before regular use.

Sold individually; pair available. Shades not included. Pieces of this quality and color are increasingly difficult to source as a true pair.
